Plains Snowstorm
There is a plains snowstorm marching through the bottom half of the US as 2019 closes out. It's certainly colorful on the map, but the reality is that northern New Mexico is gray and wet, not bright blue as on the map, or green or any other color. Just gray.
But winter moisture is good for my plants, and snow in the mountains is terrific for our reservoirs. Any precipitation in this climate is worthy of celebration. We even had thick fog one morning. Brown stucco houses disappeared in silver mist that drifted over white snow and gray gravel, a very disorienting scene for sure.
So Happy Wet New Year to us and Happy 2020 to all of you!
