18 But Experienced
I turned 70 today. That's never happened before.
Caught me a bit by surprise, although I can count and I knew it was coming. But Seventy? Old people are seventy.
Old people remember the 1960s and a time before iPhones and google. I remember all that, even though film footage of the sixties looks so antique to me now and I can't even imagine life without phones and internet and GPS.
Old people get confused. I get confused. Old people complain about the physics of aging -- the body parts that have moved, the strange face in the mirror, infirmities. All that is happening to me.
But here I am in a home I love in a place far from where I grew up. Family is all good, my health holds, and I am ready for more.
