Light Explosion
The City of Santa Fe abandoned all taste and any sense of visual cohesion and put up these Christmas lights on the plaza.
And this, in a city that prides itself on its fine art scene and decorative sensibilities. I absolutely love it.
The ancient low Palace of the Governors building has its little farolitos lit up in a row on the roof. Their orange glow can't hold a candle (pfft) to the abandonment of restraint in front of them.
There is absolutely no pattern to how the lights were strung. Anything that stands somewhat upright in the area of the plaza had a random string of lights launched at it. And purple. A lot of purple.
It really is a delightfully festive sight on a dark December night. Enjoy!

Even a full moon seems awed by the display below, as were we, walking around the square one early December night.
