Waiting for Rain

I'll be taking a short break from the blog. I'm waiting for it to rain.

They say it 50% might.

Maybe. Localized short bursts over the next few days in some isolated areas, not everywhere but some places. Or not.

I'm waiting. I'll be back here in a while and I hope things are wet when I return.

Same for where you are going…but not even a prediction of rain. Things are becoming dire

LOVE the turquoise bird bath!
A south western touch that would look good here in NE too.

News of no rain in the SW has reached us here. Photos of lakes and reservoirs show how dire things are. What is the source of drinking water in Santa Fe?

Pam - it rained, a light gentle rain for a couple days while we've been away! Yay.

Peggy - we get some of our water from reservoirs on the Santa Fe River, a small river that runs from the mountains above us down to the Rio Grande. It's dammed now for retention, so it doesn't run through the city to the Rio Grande any more, but we do get water from the holding ponds. We also get water from several deep wells dug around the Rio Grande aquifer, and we get an allotment from the Rio Grande itself. Water is so precious here, but we do have it.
