Mental Health Day

How to maintain what is left of your mental well being in a world gone wrong.

🌤 Open the blinds, check the weather, make the coffee, get the paper.

🗞 Don't read it, at least not the international, national or town news and skip the arrests. Comics are fine and recipes. Obituaries are okay.

🥕 Get dressed and head down to the farmer's market in the center.

🌶 Inhale the heady smell of roasting chiles. It is the season. It tingles the senses. Walk around and breathe it in.

🛍 Buy a bag of fresh roasted still steaming charred chiles (we got Big Jim chiles, medium spice)

🌻 Buy flowers. Orange zinnias and pink dahlias. Sunflowers are too big for my vases.

🍷 Go to the wine store. Get wine. And Ghirardelli chocolate. They sell both. They know their clientele.

🚗 Finish up some other errands and head home for lunch. Find a vase for the flowers.

Later . . .
🍾 Uncork the wine, open the chocolate, prepare the roasted chiles to go with what's for dinner and ask Alexa to play some music, nothing current, just oldies and stuff we know.

💦 Bring the patio furniture cushions inside, it's raining again.

That was how we spent last Saturday and it helped.

So very true! I actually giggled out loud at the comment about the wine and chocolate and knowing the clientele. It really does help

We'll get help wherever we can find it.
