Fires

We are not in any danger from the forest fires to the west of us and the two to the east of us. That yellow star on the satellite image below is where we live, in a valley between two mountain ranges of the southern Rockies - the Jemez to our west and the Sangre de Cristos to our east.

It has been windy, windy, windy. The fires are not controlled. When the winds blow from the west we get smoke. When the winds blow from the east we get smoke. But we are not in danger.

Here's a time lapse of the fires from space: New Mexico on fire, dust storms from Colorado. (As of May 4.)

A terrible start to spring. Make it stop.
